With rich
heritage of technology-based products
Nelson Global Products Prepared to Meet Thermal Management Demands
Louisville, Ky. – March 30, 2011 -- Nelson Global
Products Inc. has returned to its rich six decades-plus history and
track record of strong product engineering, quality manufacturing
and premium customer service
of exhaust and fabricated tube assemblies for the on-highway,
off-highway and specialty vehicle markets.
The exhaust
operation, owned and operated for 15 years by Cummins Inc is being
sold to Global Tube Form, a portfolio company of Wind Point
Partners, a private equity firm headquartered in Chicago, Ill.
The portfolio company will be renamed to Nelson Global
Products Inc.
“Nelson is a powerful brand name and it’s back in a big way to serve
OEM customers around the world,” said Tom Gosnell, Chief Executive
Officer of Nelson Global Products.
Announced here at the Mid-America Trucking show, Nelson Global
Products, will be based in Stoughton, Wisc., and manufactures
exhaust mufflers and systems, fabricated tube products such as EGR,
charged air tubes, coolant tubes, exhaust tubes and its newest line
of
Thermal Management Tubing (TMT) to support the thermal requirements
of complex diesel aftertreatment emissions systems.
The company
is concentrating its efforts on providing cost-effective, durable,
high performing, quality thermal management solutions to OEMs for
both 2010 and 2013 EPA emission regulations.
Stringent new emissions regulations for U.S. on-highway
diesel engines, mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency in
2010, have required the industry’s need for quality, thermal
management tubing solutions.
As other countries adopt tighter emissions standards in the
future, Nelson anticipates carrying over North America thermal
management technology to achieve significantly higher demand for its
thermal management tubing products.
“Our
extensive engineering team offers customers vast
industry-market-and-application knowledge
of multi-vehicles and
multi-vocations, and our track record of collaborating and
partnering with major customers is outstanding and held in high
esteem by our customers.
Plus our entire workforce is excited about the market
challenges and proving once again that we are the technology leader
in the global exhaust arena,” Gosnell emphasized.
A 30 year
veteran management leader in the commercial vehicle industry who
most recently served as a senior executive with Rockwell Automotive
and ArvinMeritor, Gosnell has assembled a strong management team
including Kevin Stokstad, sales director, Frank Gould, engineering
team leader, and Doug Dole, vice president of operations.
"We will
revive the powerful brand of Nelson exhaust-emissions products.
This is a very exciting opportunity for us to invest in a
business which is central to our growth strategy and has significant
opportunity for us to improve our service, product offerings and
cost-levels to meet the expectations of our OEM customers,” said
Gosnell.
According
to Stokstad, Nelson aggressively plans to reinforce its position not
only in the OE markets but also in the heavy and medium vehicle
aftermarket with a clear vision of improved wide availability in
distribution channels “with the right products at the right place at
the right time.”
